The General Maintenance Technician possesses a working knowledge of carpentry, plumbing, electrical and general maintenance duties and utilizes industry best practices along with defined company procedures to ensure timely completion of projects on our owned and leased properties. The candidate must also have a demonstrated ability to manage multiple competing tasks and demands.

Job Functions:

• 
  
• Tracks timelines for all phases of projects to meet company established completion deadlines.
  
• Establishes respectful working relationships with managers, coworkers, outside vendors and sub-contractors.
  
• Assess situations and determine the best course of action.
  
• Performs general repairs that do not require a specialized technician. Examples may include repairing drywall, painting, and repairing doors and other building fixtures.
  
• Performs routine maintenance on building systems.
  
• Cleans and assists with upkeep of the facilities.
  
• Orders supplies and materials needed for repairs and maintenance.
  
• Able to effectively prioritize tasks with limited supervision.
  
• Other duties as assigned.
  Requirements:
  
  • 
    
  • High School Diploma or equivalent
    
  • 3+ years' experience in construction, carpentry, repairs and maintenance
    
  • Working knowledge of the various trades associated with construction project management: plumbing, electrical, painting, carpentry, and HVAC.
    
  • Must have excellent interpersonal skills.
    
  • Demonstrated poise, tact, and diplomacy in dealing with coworkers, vendors, sub-contractors, etc.
    
  • Ability to resolve conflict in professional, timely manner.
    
  • Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment.
    
  • Must hold a valid drivers' license.
    
  • Regular daily travel required.
    
  • Industry standard licenses and/or certifications a plus but not required.
    
    Physical Demands

    • Must be able to stand for up to 8 hours per day.
      
    • Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds at times, at times from overhead locations.
      
    • Routinely requires exposure to outside elements including variations of temperature, noise, odors, etc.
      
    • Must be able to traverse properties and facilities to diagnose building issues and plan repairs or maintenance.
      
    • Must be physically able to perform repairs when needed.
