Duties: Instron has an opportunity for a Market Manager
(Automotive and Metals Industry) to leverage first-hand understanding of
customer needs, proprietary product and applications expertise, in-depth
market knowledge, and insights towards market penetration of Instron’s
key Static Metals testing products. Responsibilities will include
promoting growth of Instron’s Static Metals business by increasing the
efficiency of Instron’s EM Business team within the Industrial Product
Group. Will develop original and creative technical solutions to
on-going development efforts. Will design applications or subsystems on
major projects and for/in multiple platforms. Will support and perform
all phases of testing leading to implementation. Will contribute to
the release of several new product lines in 2016 through a
collaborative network of engineers and business development specialists. Will
research market conditions and gather information to drive engineering
efforts for product developments for the Static Metals testing
industry, collaborating with Instron’s engineering teams to determine key
product development areas and present a strategy for continued growth.
Will implement a streamlined section of software for metals
customers, optimizing it for this market segment and improving the
efficiency of testing. Will work to increase the effectiveness and efficiency
of the EM Business team within the Industrial Products Group and
increase Instron’s Static Metals testing market share through its new
2016 line of proprietary metals testing machines. Will perform independent
and complex technical and functional analysis for multiple
projects supporting several initiatives. Will supervise 19 engineering
and marketing professionals. Requirements: Bachelor's degree in Engineering Design,
Mechatronics or a closely related field (willing to accept foreign education
equivalent) plus one (1) year of experience in product management and
business development within a manufacturing environment. Must have
expertise in: Demonstrated Expertise (“DE”) developing leading edge solutions
for the measurement of strain for a diverse range of materials,
applications and testing environments using strain gages, precision encoders as
well as optical and video based systems with sophisticated image
processing algorithms; DE developing BSI, ISO and ASTM standards for the
testing of uniaxial metallic materials and serving on related
international standardization committees; DE troubleshooting materials testing
systems within complex metals testing applications, including Closed
Loop Strain Control, High Temperature Testing, software bug identification,
plastic strain ratio, strain hardening exponent, yield results, and
elongation issues in compliance with metals testing standards; DE
conducting global B2B sales for capital equipment; DE leading a software
engineering team to develop complex software solutions aimed at providing
compliance with BSI, ISO and ASTM standards for the testing of uniaxial
metallic materials; DE performing complex market analysis of business
accounts to provide and develop key business development strategies; DE
using Sitecore to manage web content and build customer facing
collateral and web pages to increase customer engagement and generate
business development leads; and; and DE coordinating with cross
functional, international, internal/external teams. Submit resume to
