Job Description:

DescriptionAs a member of the Military Assistance Team within the Office of the Chairman, this position will be responsible for supporting CFG customers and internal business units in providing high level operational and service support with regards to Servicemember benefits and protections. The roles primary focus will be to support our Servicemember customers in relation to the Servicemember---s Civil Relief Act (SCRA) and Military Lending Act (MLA). They will ensure efficient and compliant day to day processes, acting as a liaison and single point of contact for our customers, internal departments, and external business partners. This position will also serve as a subject matter expert for operational and service related SCRA and MLA issues for the Bank. --This is a highly visible role that works with numerous business partners in the Bank and will interface with Compliance, Legal, and Risk.Primary responsibilities include:

  • Represent CFG as a single point of contact to the customer regarding SCRA and MLA aspects of the customer relationship.
  • Will coordinate and walk customer through all applicable aspects of SCRA and MLA with respect to the customer---s relationship with the Bank. Will ensure communication, both verbal and written, are timely, comprehensive, and coordinated.
  • Will pro-actively reach out to Servicemembers based on any review of internal materials or external systems (Defense Manpower Database, Credit Bureau Reporting, etc---) to ensure expectations are met and protections are secured.
  • Will act as a subject matter expert and help drive operational compliance in regards to operational and service processes related to SCRA and MLA. May provide training/education for such.
  • Position the Bank for sound internal and/or external regulatory exams.
  • With assistance from Military Assistance Team management, understand and support the team---s long term strategic objectives and independently offer valuable process improvement feedback.QualificationsRequired Skills/Experience:5+ years experience handling and resolving progressively complex escalated operational or customer service issues in a regulated environmentSuperior research, detailed orientation, analytical, critical thinking and reading comprehension skills requiredExceptional ability to work under pressure with efficiency and accuracyGeneral understanding of the internal and/or external regulatory exam processIndependently prioritizes work while successfully managing competing priorities with meticulous quality and attention to detailAbility to multitask, work independently in a fast paced, changing environment with minimal supervision, ultimately ensuring Servicemember benefits and protections are accurately providedStrong relationship building skillsOutstanding written and verbal communication skillsAdvanced computer skills; strong, working knowledge of Microsoft Office productsAbility to learn Bank systems and applications quickly and proficientlyPreferred Skills/Experience:
    • Previous experience or subject matter knowledge of the SCRA and/or Military Lending Act--
