Associate, Data Governance is the subject matter expert of data in
their given domain, with the best knowledge of the data and its
uses, and is responsible for identifying, measuring, and reporting
data quality issues within their respective area of expertise. They
are also responsible for metadata management and plays a key role
in supporting core Data Governance functions and
strategies.Responsibilities:
- Executes the Data Management Program according to the Data
Management Program Policy and Standards in partnership with the
Data Owners, Subject Matter Experts and Technology partners within
a given Data Domain; Risk & Finance in the Private Wealth
business
- Communication with Group on the completion of the Group Data
Management Initiatives.
- Coordination and support on the execution of Group Data
Management Initiatives from a local standpoint.
- Develops strategic multi-year Data Management Book of Work in
collaboration with Data Owners taking into consideration priority
data driven business processes, reports, models and projects of the
area that require Data Management program implementation
- Leads new data initiatives by defining data management
requirements, tracking, and reporting on projects progress,
escalating risks and issues in plan execution and follows defined
change management governance processes
- Collaborates with Data Owners to ensure their understand of the
program deliverables and that necessary approvals are provided such
as in the identification of Key Data Elements and Business Rule
definitions
- Ensures the data governance teams create and maintain metadata
knowledge artifacts such as data dictionaries, data lineage, and
identifies need for changes in metadata within domain.
- Identifies, tracks, and works with Remediation team on the
resolution of priority data issues root causes to improve data
quality levels
- Responsible to ensure that control models to monitor and report
data quality issues are in place and adhere to data policies and
standards for the data domains under their area of leadership
- Leads the annual review of existing key data elements, data
quality rules and associated metadata artifacts to ensure they are
still fit for purpose and were consistently implemented across the
organization
- Recommends and implements improvements to existing data,
metadata and governance processes.
- Collaborate with CDO training team to improve knowledge of data
management tools, policies, and new procedures
- Prepare and present materials to the executive team regarding
the status of the Program.
- Participate and present in routine first line of defense
governance forums including leading monthly meetings with Data
Owners and domain SMEs
- Reviews the teams standard reporting packages on data domain
status including data plans execution, program coverage levels, and
key remediation activities for program stakeholders and
executivesEducation:
- Required: Bachelor's Degree; Economics, Business
Administration, Computer Science, Information Technology or
equivalent quantitative field.
- Preferred: Master's Degree; Economics, Business Administration,
Computer Science, Information Technology or equivalent quantitative
field or equivalent work experience.Requirements:
- 9-12 years relevant experience
- Ability to adjust to new developments/changing
circumstances.
- Ability to communicate at all levels with clarity, poise,
maturity and precision both written and verbal.
- Ability to exercise stakeholder confidentiality and
discretionary judgment.
- Ability to grasp complex analytic principles and techniques
with data logic mastery.
- Ability to interact with senior level management; experience
interfacing with multiple levels of the organizational
structure.
- Ability to lead, influence and direct peers, and
management.
- Ability to maintain and report on confidential information in
an appropriate manner.
- Advanced knowledge and experience using statistical packages
for analyzing data sets (Excel, Access, SPSS).
- Advanced knowledge of statistical applications within Financial
Services to interpret data requests and identify data analytics
opportunities.
- Demonstrated analytical, project management and tactical
planning skills.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills. Results
oriented; ability to work efficiently and meet strict reporting
deadlines.
- Self-directed, self-motivated and demonstrated experience
providing ideas and solutions to further business
understanding.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to collect, organize,
analyze, and disseminate significant amounts of information with
attention to detail and accuracy.
- Strong data quality experience.
- Strong leadership, organization, and project management
skills.
- Technical expertise regarding data modeling, database design
development, data mining, and segmentation techniques.Risk
