Pathology Assistant for a local contract job in Boston,
Massachusetts. Job Description & Requirements - Specialty:
Pathology Assistant - Discipline: Allied Health Professional -
Start Date: ASAP - Duration: 26 weeks - 40 hours per week - Shift:
8 hours, days - Employment Type: Local Contract Position: Pathology
Assistant Speciality: Anatomic Pathology Duration: 06 Months of
Contract to FTE Location: Boston, MA Shift/Work Schedule: 8 AM to
4:30 PM M-F Required Skills: •/tASCP Certified Pathology
•/tAnatomic Pathology Job Description: •/tPerform complete
dissection, gross description, selection and submission of tissue
for microscopic examination and special studies following
departmental guidelines. •/tFollow the laboratory's procedure for
specimen handling and processing. •/tAdhere to the laboratory's
quality control policies and procedures. •/tAssist other areas
rotations within the department with specified assignments in a
timely manner after the assigned job has been completed. •/tEnsure
a professional environment is maintained. •/tIdentify problems that
may adversely affect test performance or reporting of test results
and work to correct or report the problem. •/tMaintain high ethical
standards and integrity in performing the assigned duties.
Knowledge of hazardous waste management. •/tKnowledge of personal
protection measures and blood borne pathogens. Experience cutting
frozen sections is desired. Requirements: •/tBachelor's degree in
Biology, Chemistry, or a related science. •/tCertified by the
American Society of Clinical Pathology is highly preferred. •/tNo
experience required with the completion of a NAACLS accredited PA
program. •/tExperience in a high-volume clinical laboratory
environment is preferred. •/tProficient with computers; Familiarity
with laboratory information systems is a plus. •/tKnowledge of
quality control and quality assurance processes. •/tStrong
communication skills; both written and verbal. •/tHigh level of
attention detail along with strong organizational skills.
•/tKnowledge of hazardous waste management and personal protection
measures. •/tAbility to handle the physical requirements of the
position. •/tMust be able to pass a standardized color vision
screen. •/tFlexibility to work overtime or other shifts depending
