Job Title: Labor and Delivery Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Labor and Delivery Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Nights Hours per Shift: 12 hours Experience: Minimum 3 years of Labor and Delivery experience required License: Active RN License required Certifications: BLS certification required Must-Have: Must have Labor experience including circulating in the OR Description: Maternal-Child Health Nurses deliver care to pregnant and laboring women, newborns, children, and families across the continuum of care. They utilize the nursing process of assessment, planning, intervention, implementation, and evaluation. Nurses collaborate with other professional disciplines to ensure effective patient care delivery and achievement of desired patient outcomes. They effectively interact with patients and their significant others, while maintaining standards of professional nursing. MCH Nurses assist the healthcare team in caring for patients. Candidates must possess effective interpersonal skills and demonstrate good oral and written communication skills. They must communicate effectively with patients, families, and hospital staff in accordance with established policies and procedures. Candidate should demonstrate patient-centered behaviors. They must be organized and achieve a high level of accuracy in daily work.
