Certifications: ACLS, BLS Must-Have: Previous surgical experience;
must be able to scrub for various surgeries; must have experience
with Epic charting system; must be willing to float between
facilities. Description: The operating room registered nurse is
responsible for providing high-quality care to patients undergoing
surgical procedures. This role involves scrubbing for endoscopic,
orthopedic, general, and gynecological surgeries. The nurse will
ensure patient safety and comfort throughout the surgical process.
Strong knowledge of infection control practices is essential.
Familiarity with specific surgical tools and procedures is
required. The nurse must demonstrate effective communication and
collaboration with the surgical team. Floating between different
facilities may be necessary. On-call or weekend requirements do not
apply for this position. Additional skills such as specimen
handling and labeling, as well as knowledge of electrosurgical
units, are expected. The nurse will work with various patient age
groups, including adolescents, adults, and geriatrics. Daily
patient census typically ranges from 15 to 20 patients. The surgery
center has two operating rooms available for procedures.
Interdisciplinary support includes interpretation services,
radiology, pharmacy, and unit secretary assistance. Overall, this
position requires a dedicated and skilled registered nurse to
contribute to effective patient outcomes in the operating room.
