The University of Vermont Medical Center in Burlington, VT is seeking a dedicated Respiratory Therapist I or II to join our progressive healthcare team. This role involves providing critical respiratory care services to patients, including diagnostic tests and therapeutic procedures. Our center focuses on delivering high-quality medical care with a commitment to innovation and community health improvement. The selected candidate will work closely with a dynamic team of healthcare professionals to ensure the effective delivery of respiratory therapy to a diverse patient population. Perform diagnostic tests such as measuring lung capacity and analyzing blood samples to determine concentrations of oxygen and other gases. Administer therapeutic procedures like aerosol medications, chest physiotherapy, and mechanical ventilation. Collaborate with healthcare team members to develop effective patient care plans. Monitor and record patient progress in response to therapies. Educate patients and families on treatment plans, respiratory health maintenance, and disease prevention. Proficient in the use of modern respiratory care equipment and techniques. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Excellent interpersonal and communication abilities. Ability to work well within a multidisciplinary team. Medical Insurance Certified Respiratory Therapist (CRT) required. Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) certification preferred for Respiratory Therapist II. Current BLS certification required.
