Drug Screen Collector/Medical AssistantDivision:
AdministrationReports To: ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

required.Customer Service Duties-Maintain cooperative, respectful
relationships with Center Staff, local agencies, consumers and the
public.-Work in cooperation with coworkers and supervisory staff in
a constructive manner.-Accept and benefit from constructive
criticism.-Provide excellent customer service.Duties and
ResponsibilitiesPrimary Toxicology Screen Collector Duties:-Collect
urine toxicology screens which includes direct observation when
indicated-Perform oral swab toxicology screens-Perform all
documentation needed for specimen processing-Follow all state and
federal laws pertaining to toxicology screen collecting-Document in
electronic medical record-Label and store samples and prepare for
currier according to chain of custody guidelines-Maintain inventory
and order supplies-Document and communicate no shows to appropriate
center staff-Communicate promptly and clearly regarding any
specimen adulteration attempts-On rare occasions may have to
testify at legal proceedingsSecondary Medical Assistant
Duties:-Type correspondence for doctors. Ensure typed documents are
in proper format, accurate and completed within 24 hours of receipt
of request.-Make copies and/or fax documents pertinent to client
health care and in accordance with HIPPA guidelines and TPC
policies.-Ability to sort and file materials correctly by
alphabetic or numeric systems.-Obtain patient information as
directed by physician/program policy from other agencies.-Obtain
patients laboratory results and recent medication sheet from their
PCP.-Obtain vital signs (blood pressure, temperature and
weight).-Sort and distribute diagnostic test results.-Assist with
destruction of medication per agency policy.-Process medication
requests and ensure that all medication requests for the day are
completed in a timely manner.- Verify that medications received
from pharmacy match the written orders in EPIC.-Call pharmacy to
refill existing medication per physicians order. -Conduct
collateral coordination with primary care physicians as
needed.-Call insurance companies for Medication Prior
authorizations as needed.-Answer incoming calls from physicians and
other clinical staff as required and ensure messages contain
correct spelling of names, phone numbers and brief message
regarding the call.-Place calls through to the appropriate staff
person.Process medication requests in EPIC in basket periodically
throughout the day.-Answer questions and investigate if answer is
not known until resolution.Answer emails promptly.Provide backup
coverage in the Medication room as needed.QUALIFICATIONS To perform
this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE High school diploma and two years
experience working in a lab and/or as a Medical Assistant; or
equivalent combination of education and experience. Must possess
good typing skills as well as good spelling and grammar. Excellent
communication skills required.. Good computer skills are
required.
LANGUAGE SKILLS Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions,
short correspondence, and memos. Ability to effectively present
information in one-on-one and small group situations to consumers
and employees.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide
in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and
decimals.
REASONING ABILITY Ability to apply commonsense understanding to
carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.
Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables
in standardized situations.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS The physical demands described here are
