Job Description:
Description: As Maintenance Technician, you will be responsible
for preventive maintenance and troubleshooting the mechanical and
electrical aspects of manufacturing and packaging equipment and
facilities in compliance with standard operating procedures. This
position completes work orders performing a wide variety of skilled
maintenance activities. Requirements: Primary Responsibilities Read
blueprints, schematics, and diagrams to determine the method and
sequence of assembly of a part, machine, or piece of equipment
Perform a variety of installations and preventative maintenance on
plant and facility equipment. Diagnose, troubleshoot and repair
manufacturing equipment including electrical and plumbing, ensuring
equipment is in good repair and in a safe operating condition.
Pneumatic system, and any fluid system as applies. Diagnose,
troubleshoot and repair pumps, boilers, steam system, water system,
hydraulic system. Install, troubleshoot, repair, and upgrade
electronic and computer-controlled mechanical systems. Plan,
install, and lead installations of small to large projects
associated within operations and the company’s facilities.
Troubleshoot PLCs to improve and simplify operator tasks that
improve process efficiencies. Plan and perform a wide range of
skilled trades work associated with the maintenance of production
equipment, such as: install new equipment; set up equipment for
regular operation; troubleshoot equipment malfunctions; repair
equipment if feasible or recommend outside servicing or replacement
to supervisor; perform regular preventive maintenance on equipment
and maintain PM program. Assist in the design or modification of
equipment to correct production problems or enhance production
equipment capabilities. Responsible for the preparation and
coordination of the day to day and weekly work tasks. Manage small
to large projects to completion. Assist in training staff in the
proper use of equipment, offer technical advice/assistance
regarding operating problems. Assist in writing and maintaining
equipment operating, preventive maintenance, and set up procedures
as needed. Coordinate/perform any work associated with the
maintenance of material handling equipment and troubleshoot
malfunctions. Repair if feasible or recommend outside servicing or
replacement to manager. Perform all work in accordance with all
company food and personnel safety policies, practices and work
permitted activities. (ie: LOTO, PPE, GMP’s, Hot Works, Fall
Protection/ Work from Heights, Confined Space Entry). Perform a
variety of skilled trades work associated with the maintenance of
plumbing, ventilation, and other mechanical systems - including
installation, troubleshooting of problems, repairs, and so forth.
Perform a variety routine building and equipment maintenance tasks
as needed in adverse conditions. (High Heat in boiler rooms, cold
storage, snow removal). Responsible for notifying supervisor when
there is a need to hire skilled sub-contractors. Work with
operation’s team to identify and implement process improvements
that will make the manufacturing operation more efficient. Provide
information to department manager as needed in developing
department budget. Ensure proper billing on daily expenditures for
facilities repairs and maintenance. Perform various record keeping
tasks such as inventory control, maintenance schedules, and
work-order entries. Microsoft Excel, Word and Outlook required.
“Epicor-CMMS” Data entry required for processing maintenance
activity records including PM’s, Work Orders, Downtime review.
Responsible for proper use, care, and storage of all company tools
and equipment. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Must be able to work independently and a part of a team.
Qualifications High school education, plus a minimum of four years
of relevant technical experience in the installation, repair and
maintenance of electrical and mechanical systems. Certifications
obtained in relevant field a plus. Strong mechanical aptitude.
Experience with PLC programming Knowledge and experience with
boiler systems is desirable. Broad base of knowledge and skills
related to the building trades; vehicle and equipment repair;
mechanical systems installation, maintenance, and repair (plumbing,
electrical, etc.). Working knowledge and experience with
preventative maintenance programs and process improvement efforts
desirable. Sound reading, writing, and math skills required.
Ability to work cooperatively with other employees at all levels in
a team-oriented work environment. Valid driver's license is
required. Physical Aspect of the Work Physical ability to perform
all essential job duties, including heavy or moderate lifting,
pushing, pulling and carrying up to 50 pounds or more with
assistance, prolonged standing and walking, considerable bending,
stooping, kneeling and crouching. Ability to climb ladders as
needed to service facility and production equipment. Ability to
work from and operate manlift/scissor lift. Required to inspect and
utilize harness and fall/retrieval gear for Working From Heights
and Confined Space Entry. Flexibility of hours; may be required to
be on call and/or work evenings, weekends, or off shifts. Ability
to participate in and support the Company’s purpose and principles.
Ability to convey ideas, solutions, analyses and to listen before
taking actions. Ability to set and act on priorities and meet
deadlines. Welding experience a plus. Shift Hours: 3:00 PM - 1:00
AM Monday - Thursday Compensation details: 29-35 Hourly Wage
