Job Description

The purpose of this solicitation is to hire an experienced Intermediate Desktop Support Specialist. A good understanding of Windows Desktop Administration, Active Directory concepts, Domain administration and thin client computing are required. Win 10 and Microsoft Office, SCCM and Thin clients are highly recommended. Experience with large scale deployments would be beneficial. Work across a broad range of technologies and liaises across multiple areas of the business to support incidents, problems and requests. Responsible for answering IT requests via phone email, or in person and explaining solutions in technical and non-technical terms.

Vendor is to provide an experienced Desktop Support Technician to the existing DOIT Technical Support team. Vendor is expected to provide an Intermediate Desktop Support Technicians onsite, will work mostly from the Cranston office,

the anticipated duration of this project is longer than 12 -24 months. Vendor is expected to provide Intermediate Desktop Support Specialist's onsite for 35 hours per week. Services should commence around March 30, 2021. Contingent on the work load to successful implementation, additional contract extensions may be requested.

Scope

  • Vendor must meet with Technical Support Manager to ensure Intermediate Desktop Support Specialist's success.
  • Intermediate Desktop Support Specialist's must adhere to DolT Security and Client policies.
  • Such DOIT IT policies may be located at www.doit.ri.gov.
  • Intermediate Desktop Support Specialist's will be subjected to periodical review by Technical Support Manager.
  • Intermediate Desktop Support Specialist's will be expected to pass all of the Department of Administrations Security Policies.
  • Release of the BCI Vendor Certification, Non-Disclosure, Confidentiality and Invention Agreement and HIPAA Business Associate Agreement (if applicable). The form of the BCI Vendor Certification, Non-Disclosure, Confidentiality and Invention Agreement and HIPAA Business Associate Agreement (if applicable) shall be provided as an Exhibit to an Addendum to this mini bid. In addition, some State or agency policies may be memorialized in an agreement that must be signed by the required parties.
  • The State reserves the right to request and review BCI
  • Vendor must meet with Technical Support Manager to ensure Intermediate Desktop Support Specialist's success on a weekly basis.
    The selected Desktop Technician will be working closely with the existing Technical Support staff and will interact will other team members on multiple aspects of the project. The selected contractor will be responsible for Setting up Dual monitors on PC based systems. PC builds from pre-defined images or custom build, deploying PC's and printers to end users, along with migrating documents, settings and custom software that end users have installed. It also includes configuring local or network printers for each end user.
