Job Description:
Interstate Waste Services, a leader in non-hazardous waste
management in the Northeast U.S., is looking for a skilled B
Mechanic to join our maintenance team. As a B Mechanic at
Interstate Waste Services, you will be pivotal in maintaining and
repairing our fleet of waste collection vehicles and equipment,
ensuring their optimal functionality and safety. Your work will
directly contribute to the efficiency of our operations and our
commitment to environmental sustainability. Perform routine
maintenance and emergency repairs on waste collection vehicles and
equipment. Diagnose mechanical issues and determine effective
solutions. Work closely with other team members to ensure all
vehicles meet safety and quality standards. Keep detailed records
of services and repairs performed on each vehicle. Assist in the
ordering and inventory management of parts and supplies. Support
the cleanliness and organization of the maintenance facility.
Strong knowledge of vehicle and equipment repair. Proficiency in
hydraulic and diesel engine systems. Excellent diagnostic and
problem-solving skills. Ability to work independently and as part
of a team. Effective communication and documentation skills. Valid
driver’s license. ASE Certification in Heavy Truck Mechanics is
preferred.
